THELMA D. BROWN JAMES, 66, passed away at Mobile Infirmary on February 1, 2020. She was a native and resident of Washington County. Thelma graduated from Millry High School and was married to Melton Dees until 1988 when he passed away. Thelma and Melton had a daughter, Kasey. Later Thelma married Timothy James and they had one son, Elijah. Thelma attended Chatom Church of God. She worked in Sewing Factories such as Cam, Millry Manufacturing, and Choctaw Manufacturing Company. Thelma loved to go to Gospel singings and Church functions. She loved watching Jimmy Swaggart on T.V. and listening to him on the radio. Thelma was a Homebody, and read her Bible faithfully. She was known to be a prayer warrior for many. Thelma loved her family and was affectionately called "MawMaw" by her grandchildren.

A Grave Side Service will be held Monday February 3, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Kimbrough Cemetery, Millry, Alabama. Rev. Naomi Brown will be officiating with St. Stephens Funeral Home directing.
