Thelma married at age fifteen and had her first child of six at age sixteen. Thelma received her Real Estate License, from a school in Georgia, while being married and raising her six children. In Thelma's adult years she attended a variety of churches before she made her home church Christian Independent Assembly. Thelma made sure her children attended and was involved in the Church. Some of her hobbies were to sew, cook, read, watch game shows and comedies. Her favorite book was the Bible. Thelma didn't have a favorite Bible Verse, she loved them all. When she was unable to attend church, she enjoyed watching Televangelism on the television. Even though she was a Homebody she always spoke her mind.
