Thomas (Tommy) Edwin Hennis passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the age of 82.

Tommy was born on October 14, 1939 in Fruitdale, Alabama and was a long time resident of Chatom, Alabama where he worked at Andrew's Hardware for 18 years and then later started his own business, Hennis Sales and Service. As a General Contractor he was known by the residents of the surrounding towns to be the guy you called when you needed appliance repairs in your home. He deeply loved working with his hands and helping his neighbors in need. He was a member of Chatom Baptist Church.

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents Lige and Mona (Baxter) Hennis; brothers James L. Hennis and Clyde Hennis.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Mary (Davis) Hennis; his children Marty (Lisa) Hennis, Paula Hennis, Danielle (John) Daszczuk; grandchildren Ethan Hennis, Wesley Hennis, Adam Greene, Brady Greene, MacClaine Greene, Tristen Greene, Tyler Daszczuk, Shyann Daszczuk, Savannah Daszczuk and Brody Daszczuk; great-grandchildren Elaina Greene and Garrett Greene. Brother Gene (Peggy) Hennis.

Honorary Pallbearers are Junior Carpenter, Ted Hazen, Todd Hennis, Dale Singleton, Aaron Carpenter and Jimmy Don Beech.

Graveside Burial Service for the public is at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 4th at the Springbank Baptist Church Cemetery in Chatom, Alabama.
