Warren Eugene Chafin

Warren Eugene "Bookie" Chafin, 83, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025.

     Warren Chafin, better known to his family as "Bookie", loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, who fondly called him PawPaw. He retired from Ciba in 2003 and soon after he lost the love of his life, Mrs. Wanda Faye Chafin. They were married for 42 years. He was a genealogy enthusiast and his life dream was for her and him to travel to all the graveyards they could find. They would both stay up late searching on their computers for places to go. They were able to document a good bit before her passing. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Mr. Chafin is survived by: His sons, Charles (Kimberly) Chafin, Phillip (Gwen) Chafin; sister, Ella Jane Dees; grandchildren, Josh Chafin, Ethan Chafin, Chris Mizell, Mathew Chafin, and Mollie (Patrick) Sanderson; great grandchildren, Joshua Chafin, Easton Chafin, and Gracelyn Sanderson.

Mr. Chafin is preceded in death by: His parents, Charles H. and Agnes Cooper; wife, Wanda Faye Chafin; brothers, Norman Chafin and Charles "Pete" Chafin; sisters, Gladys Gilley and Ellen Beech, and great grandchild, Kanden Chafin.

Visitation will be held at Reynolds Holiness Church in Chatom, Al, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM, funeral at 12:00 PM, with Bro. Michael McRae and Bro. Darren Chafin officiating, and interment to follow at Reynolds Holiness Church Cemetery. Directed by St. Stephens Funeral Home
