On Wednesday, April 22, 2020, Wilbert Lee Elmore, passed away at the age of 77 in Frankville, Alabama. Will was born on August 27, 1942 to Jessie Frank and Evie Elmore. He is survived by his wife Faye, his two children Sandra and Dennis, his brother, Jay, and his sister, Peggy. "Papa Will", beloved grandfather to Savannah, Mason, Maggie, and Kennedi.
"Papa Will" was a father figure to more than just his two children. He made life-long friends wherever he went, and called every child "his little buddy".
"Papa Will" graduated from Murphy High School in 1961. He worked at "Old" Geigy for 42 years and was a member of Frankville Baptist Church. Will was on the volunteer fire department and the Water Board in Frankville. He loved turkey hunting in Kentucky, fishing for crappie on the Tombigbee River, running his boat up creek by his house (SantaBogue), camping with his family at ForkLand Campground and watching Alabama football. Will liked to gather with his friends at Worth's store to drink coffee and try to solve problems of the world. He was your "go to" person in Frankville. If Will could not be found in his shop....he might just be inside watching "Gunsmoke!"
May his soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Dear Lord, though we face immense heartbreak over Will's untimely death, may we never forget that the ultimate victory belongs to you.
