William Mitchell Smith

William Mitchell Smith, 72, of Chatom, Al, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

     Mr. Smith was a hard working man. He enjoyed the fact that he was able to travel with his job. He also enjoyed Alabama football and cooking when he wasn't working.

     William loved his children and enjoyed spending time with them until they were tragically taken from him. He loved his friends and would do anything he could for them if they were in need.  He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Mr. Smith is survived by: his sisters, Mariella Lewis, Alfretta Dyess; Life-Long friends, Buddy and Angie Deese, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by: his parents, William Luke and Ruby Hazel Smith; son, William Woodrow Smith; daughter, Veronica Lynn Smith Anderson; sisters, Genevia Graham and Voncile Taylor.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Chatom Cemetery in Chatom, Al at 1:00 PM, with St. Stephens Funeral Home directing.
