On Monday, March 23, 2026, Mr. Wilman Earl Wilson entered the Pearly Gates of Heaven, no doubt with a grin so wide St. Peter nearly dropped his clipboard. Mr. Wilson was quite the character, spreading joy and laughter wherever he went. He enjoyed belting out gospel tunes and could sing so well he made angels jealous. Known to most as “Rooster", he earned the nickname by crowing at work, aiming to startle sleepy coworkers and coax smiles even from the grumpiest faces.
In his early years, Wilman was always on the hunt for a way to make a dollar, sometimes with ideas so creative you’d think he was auditioning for a comedy show. He once sold rabbits on the roadside and, never one to shy away from attention, dressed up as a pink rabbit himself. Passersby honked, waved, and probably wondered if he was moonlighting as the Easter Bunny. His marketing schemes had a flair for the dramatic and if you needed something quirky, he’d deliver, wrapped in laughter.
He greeted everyone with a smile so dazzling it could light up the darkest room and possibly short-circuit a few streetlights. A delightful, gullible soul, he kept everyone chuckling as he brainstormed wild new ways to sell what he thought folks would want. His pitches were sometimes so entertaining, people bought just for the show. Rooster was the kind of entrepreneur who could sell ice to penguins and convince them it was a luxury item.
Wilman will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. May his mischievous spirit, infectious laughter, and knack for turning ordinary moments into comedy routines live on in the memories of those lucky enough to call him friend. The world is a little less bright and a lot less funny without him.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his son, William J. Wilson, His brother, Joe (Sharon) Wilson. sisters, Linda Sheffield and Mary “Truman” Williams.
