Zachary Burge, 47, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Zachary Burge was a resident of Jackson, Al. in his younger years. He graduated with honors from Jackson High School in 1996, and received a full scholarship, and graduated from the University of Montevallo in 2001, with a degree in English and Philosophy.
Zachary was a true family man. He loved his family and his son, Carter, beyond measure. Zachary and Carter shared a very close bond, a bond so close that no words were needed. They just knew what the other was thinking. He also enjoyed many pleasures. He loved music, camping, Alabama football, Atlanta Braves baseball, reading and watching the floats during Mardi Gras season. His passion was in the culinary arts. He was a chef in Downtown Mobile, where he loved seeing others enjoying the meals he prepared for them. He will be dearly missed by all of his family, friends and all who knew him.
Mr. Burge is survived by: His wife, Michael Duke Burge; parents, Bill and Vicki Burge; son, Carter Burge; brother Ian (Theresa) Burge, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Mr. Burge is preceded in death by: His grandparents, Frank and Betty Burge, and Louise Bradford.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Jackson, Al, on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 3:00 PM and a short service with Rev. Ralph Wooten officiating, starting at 4:00 PM.
